“The Forest Schools work Ian does with our students is inspiring. They learn to work together as a team – with each other and for each other – in real situations. This has impacted significantly on students’self esteem and confidence. We have seen them ‘grow’ individually as they take responsibility and rise to challenges set. Ian is a great teacher – he understands student’s needs quickly and adapts what and how he teaches to enable everyone to participate and learn. His classroom is the Forest, where he passes on knowledge and teaches respect, both for the environment and each other. Learning is tangible and relevant. Ian’s work enriches our provision at Bennerley Fields absolutely and without doubt!”

“I took a group of young people on a try it session with Ian. The day consisted of several activities, from making a simple shelter to making a fire and cooking. All of the young people said that they enjoyed the day. The highlight for most of them was the cooking. From a group Leaders point of view the day was well structured, with a wide variety of activities that engaged, entertained and educated everyone. I would highly recommend Ian as a provider for Bushcraft Education.”

It is always a pleasure to work with Ian Creswell of Lone Scout Bushcraft. Ian is always incredibly enthusiastic and very keen to share his skills and knowledge and love of the great outdoors. We run a number of conferences and professional development workshops every year. Needless to say Ian is always high on our list of guest workshop providers.

Having known Ian for quite some time now, I can honestly say that his enthusiasm for Bushcraft training can only be outstripped by his skills. I have watched Ian on several occasions pass on his knowledge and have never failed to be impressed by his abilities in engaging people of all ages. If ever there was a “Natural” in our business then I’d say it would be Ian.

Just wanted to thank you, Ian, for an unforgettable weekend in the woods!
This Autumn a group of 10 ‘girls’! Ranging from 21 to 50 booked a woodland surprise for our friends 50th birthday. Some in the group had never stayed out in the open before and so had reservations about the whole event. Ian instantly made us all feel comfortable and relaxed in, what was for some, an alien environment. The whole weekend worked well as Ian guided us through several tasks such as shelter building, camp fire construction, gathering and cooking food – his recipe for blackberry and apple crumble is second to none!
He has the ability to work well with many different personalities within a group and his woodland knowledge and experience gave us the confidence needed to enjoy our adventure to the full. We felt a sense of personal achievement during our time and enjoyed a four course gourmet meal cooked by the group which ended in a sing song round the camp fire before bed in our improvised shelters.
We left camp for a spa the following morning with a great sense of pride.
Already discussing booking Ian again for one of our 60th birthdays in 2022!!

I have known Ian Cresswell and worked with him for a number of years now. Ian is one of the very few amazing people that you meet in life. He is not only totally dedicated to bushcraft and the teaching experience, but also is one of the nicest people you could ever work with.
His skill levels in the teaching of children and youngsters are no less than superb. I have learnt a lot both on a personal and professional level from my time with Ian.
When working together, even the first time Ian not only blended in perfectly to our team, but hugely added to the fun and knowledge element to the training for our group of youngsters. His enthusiasm for his subject is contagious.
In our opinion after our companies working together over a period of several years I couldn’t recommend more to anybody wanting the services of bushcaft professional a wiser choice than Ian Cresswell.
Furthermore because Ian has a total commitment and passion in training children and youngsters. If you or your organisation needs a teacher for youngsters then in our opinion don’t hesitate Ian is one of the best..

At 12.20 Mole had disappeared. I found him sat queued for his knife safety with Ian Cresswell. The format for the bushcraft show was that Ian did a one-to-one with each child for 30 mins. There was no charge for this and Ian was doing this from 10 – 5 each day with a lunch break. I had asked him how he coped with that and he had said Port in the evening. That’s a great line but watching Ian working you can see he has a genius for it and it doesn’t look like a struggle for him at all more like something he is naturally meant to be doing.

My kids are taking to bushcraft with enthusiasm. The activities and personalities we met at the bushcraft show, both this year and in 2012, have inspired us all. I must say respect to Ian of Lonescout Bushcraft who spent the whole show on his knees, selflessly and with great patience teaching countless children safe knife handling. If he is on here or anyone knows him then I would like to extend my thanks for his time he spent teaching my kids about the ‘Triangle of death”!!!. I hope his knees have recovered.
